Super Eagles defender Imo Obot is set to reunite with manager Finidi George at Rivers United following his departure from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) giants Enyimba.

The left-back concluded his five-year spell with Enyimba after his contract expired at the end of the season. Obot joined the club from Dakkada FC in 2020 and has since emerged as one of the top left-backs in the NPFL.

At just 22 years old, Obot is recognized not only for his defensive capabilities but also for holding the record for the most free-kick goals by a defender in the NPFL over the past three seasons. However, he faced injury challenges throughout the last season, making 20 league appearances and three additional matches in continental competitions.

Obot was part of the Enyimba squad that claimed the NPFL title in 2023, and his upcoming move to Rivers United marks an exciting new chapter in his career.
