Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has announced his departure from Cypriot First Division side AC Omonia, bringing an end to his two separate stints with the club.
The Nigerian international confirmed his exit via a social media post expressing gratitude to the club’s supporters for their backing during his time in Nicosia.
Uzoho initially joined Omonia on loan from Deportivo La Coruña in July 2019 before returning two years later on a permanent transfer in the summer of 2021.
During his tenure with The Queen, the 24-year-old shot-stopper made 77 appearances across all competitions, conceding 84 goals while keeping 29 clean sheets.
A member of Nigeria’s 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning squad, Uzoho did not disclose his next destination but indicated that his departure was beyond his control.
“What a journey it has been for me with this badge on my chest, filled with so many memories. It was a privilege to represent this prestigious club,” Uzoho wrote on Instagram.
“I’d hate to say goodbye but it’s not in my hands. I will always love this club. Good bye.”
