Troops Repel Terrorists’ Attack, Neutralise 8 In Katsina

In a courageous display of professionalism and resolve, troops of 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army, in Katsina State, dealt a decisive blow to and put an end to an attempt by terrorists to attack innocent citizens along the Kurfi–Batsari Road in the early hours of Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

The daring assault, launched by terrorists at approximately 5:00am, was repelled by the troops and engaged the attackers in a fierce and prolonged gun battle. Displaying remarkable tactical prowess and bravery, the troops decisively dealt with the assailants, neutralising eight of them and recovering a sizeable AK-47 rifles, magazines, and large quantity of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Unfortunately, one soldier sustained injuries during the confrontation and has since been evacuated to a medical facility for prompt medical attention.

A statement by the Brigade said the condition of the injured soldier was stable.

“I salute the courage of this glant troops and deeply appreciates the resilience and support of the local community, whose cooperation continues to bolster security efforts in the region.

“This victory denotes the importance of continued vigilance and collaboration between the military and secuirty agencies.
