Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has said that the state government will not fold its hands and will watch the carnage in Effium continue.

Governor Nwifuru maintained that the state government is prepared to pursue those fermenting troubles and perpetuating violence in the community.

During a Thanksgiving service at the Government House Chapel, Governor Nwifuru disclosed this in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

He warned those who Sabotaged the peace process in the troubled community and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to quelling the crisis and ensuring peace returns to the community.

Despite the significant resources invested in resolving the conflict, he expressed disappointment over specific individuals undermining the government’s peace initiatives.

He appealed to the warlords and other individuals benefiting from the crisis to embrace peace, emphasising the importance of unity for the development of the State.
