Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick , has revealed why he prefers a foreign coach for the Super Eagles.
Pinnick said his reason for being averse to indigenous coaches stemmed from lack of respect for them by the players.
Franco-German Gernot Rohr was in charge of the Super Eagles for majority of the FIFA council member reign as NFF boss.
Randy Waldrum was also appointed Super Falcons head coach during his reign.
“Yes, the Nigerian coaches have the requisite knowledge and the technical ability, but modern football is beyond that in managing players,”he told Arise TV.
“Will the national team players respect the coach? The sad thing is that they don’t.
