Winners Emerge In Kwara Qur’an Competition

Winners have emerged in the finals of the 2023 Quranic recitation competition in Kwara State.

The grand finale of the competition was held in Ilorin township stadium.

In the male category, Haroon Hassan emerged winner in the first category of 60 Hizb with Tajweed, Tafsir and Qira’at, while Abdullateef Zakariyyah won in the second category of 60 Hizb with Tajweed and Tafsir.

Third category of 60 Hizb with Tajweed was won by Uthman Uthman just as Sherifdeen Zakariyyah emerged winner in the 4th category of 30 Hizb with Tajweed.

The 5th category of 10 Hizb with Tangeem and Tajweed was won by Hussein Ibrahim.

In the female category, Aishat Adekanye emerged winner in the 3rd category of 60 Hizb with Tajweed, while Jemilat Tijani won in the 4th category of 30 Hizb with Tajweed.

The 5th category of 10 Hizb with Tangeem and Tajweed was won by Maryam Issa.

In his remarks at the event, the state’s chairman of Qur’an recitation committee, Alhaji Shehu AbdulGafar, while recounting the success stories of the indigenes at various Quranic competitions across the world, commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for the financial and moral supports to the committee and the course.

He, however, implored the governor to fast-track approval and release of land for construction of Qur’an Memorisation Centre in the state.
