Zone Speaker To North Central, Forum Tells APC

A pressure group under the aegis of Zango Consultative Forum (ZCF) has called on the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other stakeholders to zone the position of the speaker of the 10th National Assembly to the North Central geopolitical zone.

The chairman of the forum, Alhaji Yahaya Kega made the call when he addressed newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital at the weekend.

The forum called on the National Executive Committee of the APC and all persons concerned to as a matter of fair play and balance zone the position of the speaker of the 10th Assembly to North Central.

“Since the emergence of APC in 2015, the North Central geopolitical zone has been a strong base of the party.

This act of loyalty and support deserves reward. The North Central geopolitical zone has never enjoyed the position of the Speakership of the House of Representatives despite its contribution to APC in all elections,” he said.

Kega also said that the zone is consistently a bastion of support and mobilisation for APC, hence the recent victory of the party in almost all the states in the North Central geopolitical zone.
