The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has unveiled a grassroots mobilisation movement, ‘Tinubu Again’, aimed at securing more than 20 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Matawalle disclosed this after his return to the country, where he was received by members of the movement, saying the initiative would soon be formally launched and taken to the grassroots across the country.

As part of preparations for the mobilisation campaign, the minister also unveiled 50 vehicles for the ‘Tinubu Again’ movement.

Matawalle said the movement would mobilise supporters to campaign from door to door for Tinubu and other APC candidates, including governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives and State Houses of Assembly.

He said the objective was to take the message of the Tinubu administration directly to Nigerians at the grassroots and explain the policies and programmes of the Federal Government.

“We have to go down to the people to inform people, to give the awareness to people what this present administration is doing, what Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing to the people, his programmes, his visions, missions, and his intention to Nigerians,” Matawalle said.

He said the President had good intentions for Nigerians, but stressed that supporters needed to take the administration’s message to the people.

“He has a good intention, but the messenger has to go down to the grassroots to inform the people this is what this man is ready and he is already committed to do to Nigerians,” he said.

According to Matawalle, the movement would not be limited to the presidential election, but would also mobilise support for APC candidates contesting other elective positions.

“We will work day and night to ensure their success, to ensure that we deliver the two of them and all of our candidates, be it governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, State Assembly, and all other elective position,” he said.

He said the movement was targeting more than 20 million voters, expressing confidence that the mobilisation would translate into victory for Tinubu and APC candidates in 2027.

“This movement is ready to mobilize more than 20 million to ensure success of all APC candidates, both national and state,” Matawalle said.

The minister said the grassroots campaign would involve taking the movement to communities and engaging directly with voters.

“We are taking all these messages to the grassroots, and we assure you that at the end of the day we’ll come out victorious,” he said.

Matawalle also expressed confidence in Tinubu’s re-election, saying the movement would deploy its structures and supporters to work towards victory.

“As far as we will win the election in 2027, inshallah,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu administration and support the President in the 2027 election.

“My message to Nigerians is to be patient and to vote Bola Ahmed Tinubu because he means very well to Nigerians,” Matawalle said.

The minister also expressed appreciation to members of the movement who received him at the airport upon his return to the country.

He assured the movement’s leadership that he would support efforts to ensure the success of the initiative and the re-election bid of the President.

“I assure them that I will do everything possible to ensure that this movement will deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, inshallah,” he said.

Matawalle said the movement would also support APC candidates at the state and national levels, including governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly candidates.

The launch of the ‘Tinubu Again’ movement is expected to mark the beginning of its planned grassroots mobilisation campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
