The new Jigawa State Malam Umar Namadii (Danmodi) has promised to enhance local government financial autonomy, sustain agricultural transformation programme and massive teachers recruitment for social and economic development of the state.
The governor stated this in his inaugural speech shortly after his swearing in and that of his deputy Engr Aminu Usman held at Malam Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse.
He declared that in running the affairs of the state, he will learn from the success and challenges of past state governments under Muhammad Badaru Abubakar and build from where he stopped.
Malam Namadi stated that under his 12-point agenda, he will do all his best to take Jigawa State to the next level.
“As part of my agenda for short, medium and ‘long term development program, we will improve the state education sector through provision of adequate teachers other materials and infrastructure.
“We will also enhance our healthcare sector by providing modern working equipment, producing enough manpower that will manage the facilities for making healthcare services accessible and affordable for all,” he stated.
In the area of economic development, he promised that his government will sustain an agriculture transformation programme, through encouraging mechanised farming, provision of improved seed, for food security, jobs creations and poverty eradication.
He also vowed to develop the state infrastructures, improve public service, support environment development, operate an all-inclusive and fraudulent government to ensure egalitarian and sustainable growth and development of the state.
