A nongovernmental organization, Damilola Wale-Aremu Charity (DWAC) Foundation has been unveiled in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital with a promise to ensure access to quality healthcare, and economically empower underserved communities.

At the launching and fundraising project for the foundation in Iloriin, the state capital, the state government expressed its readiness to support and collaborate with individuals and corporate organisations to improve the living standard of the people.

The commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola  Olukoju, said it is imperative for non governmental groups to undertake sustainable programmes with impact on the less privileged in line with the policy of the present administration.

Identifying Kwara as a fertile land where people sow and reap at the event themed “Missing Middle: Youth Bridging Power and Possibility,” Olukoju said the government has provided an opportunity for the young demography to thrive.

The speaker of the state House of Assembly, Engr Yakubu Danladi- Salihu, applauded the founder of the foundation for bringing the initiative to the door steps of Kwarans, praying that God will guide her to ensure that the less privileged is assisted through the foundation.

In her remarks, DWAC founder and convener of the event, Damilola Wale-Aremu, described the nation’s youths as those with potential but bereft of resources and support required for positive transformation.

She disclosed that the foundation was out to change the narrative and empower the less privileged economically.

“This moment represents the realisation of a vision born from years of passion, concern, and unwavering commitment – a desire to create something truly meaningful for our communities, particularly those who have long been overlooked. I welcome you today not merely as attendees, but as founding witnesses and future collaborators in this vital mission.

“Our theme for today, “The missing middle: youth bridging power and possibility,” captures one of the essential truths that led to the creation of this foundation: Young people are not without power they are simply under utilised,” she said.
