Nollywood actor Portable has responded to allegations of child abandonment by challenging his ex-wife, Fatimo Momoh, to bring their 10-year-old son, Mahbub, to his residence in Ogun State for a final resolution.
The actor’s reaction follows a public outcry by Fatimo, who claimed Portable had neglected both her and the child for the past eight years. Fatimo alleged that she had been left to bear the burden of raising Mahbub alone, prompting a swift rebuttal from the screen star.
In a video shared via his Instagram page on Monday, Portable admitted to performing the child’s naming ceremony a decade ago but insisted on a “trust but verify” approach. He stated that if Fatimo is confident in his paternity, she should relocate the boy to Abeokuta immediately.
“Fatima, if you are very sure that I’m his biological father, and if you are double sure that a DNA test won’t prove otherwise, bring him down to Ogun State tomorrow,” Portable said. “I am not scared of taking responsibility. Bring my son to me if truly I’m the father.”
The actor promised to take full charge of Mahbub’s education and welfare on the condition that the child is placed under his direct care.
