Akwa Ibom PDP NASS Caucus Pledges To Develop State

Akwa Ibom State stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the National Assembly under the aegis of Akwa Ibom PDP National Assembly Caucus have outlined their commitment to spearheading development initiatives aimed at uplifting the state.

This was sequel to its meeting in Abuja last Thursday where Senator Ekong Sampson of the Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District was unanimously elected chairman of the caucus.

The convener of the meeting, Senator Aniekan Bassey of the Akwa Ibom NorthEast Senatorial District, said the “Caucus has expressed its unwavering dedication to addressing critical issues plaguing the state while actively championing projects that will enhance infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.”

He emphasised the collective resolve of the caucus to leverage legislative powers and resources to drive impactful change across Akwa Ibom.
He highlighted the caucus’s determination to collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including state governments, local communities, and private sectors, to formulate and implement policies geared towards sustainable development.

Senator Bassey said, “The caucus pledges to advocate for increased federal allocation and support for Akwa Ibom State, ensuring that it receives its rightful share of resources to facilitate growth and prosperity.”

He maintained that “With a united front and a clear vision for progress, the Akwa Ibom caucus at the National Assembly stands poised to make significant strides in advancing the development agenda of the state, ultimately contributing to its overall prosperity and well-being.”

Other members of the caucus are Hon. Unyime Idem of Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency (Deputy Chairman), Barr. Ime Okon of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency (Secretary), Hon. Okpolupm Etteh of Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, Elder Mark Esset of Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency, Obong Paul Ekpo of Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency, Hon. Martins Esin of Oron/Udung Uko/Okobo/Mbo/Urue Offong Oruko Federal Constituency and Hon. Uduak Odudoh of Ikot Abasi/Mkpat Enin/Eastern Obolo Federal Constituency.
