Gunmen at about midnight on Thursday invaded Zone A in Ushafa community of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), killing a man, Felix Chuks and abducting his family.
Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen stormed the community with heavy gunfire.
According to a resident of the community, efforts to reach the vigilantes during the attack proved abortive as the men on duty were not taking calls.
“The bandits came to the area around midnight. It looked like the man was not cooperating with them,” he said.
Bandits had some months ago invaded the same community, killing a man and abducting his pregnant wife and children, and no arrest has been reported on the incident.
Efforts to reach the FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, failed at the time of filing this report failed.
