Our correspondent reports that about 10,000 low-income households were selected to benefit from the scheme.
Speaking during the flag-off of the distribution exercise in Bauchi, the lawmaker said many households in the country are suffering due to the fuel subsidy removal resulting to the hike in prices of essential commodities in the markets.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously. Items distributed include 4,000 bags of rice, 1000 cartons of spaghetti, 325 bags of sugar, 400 gallons of vegetable oil, among others.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with LEADERSHIP Sunday commended the lawmaker for coming to their aid at this critical time when they needed food to be able to worship their creator.
