Programme manager/team lead Wadata Media and Advocacy Centre, Zubair Abdulrauf Idris said its investigations with the support of MacArthur Foundation has forced a contractor back on site in Niger State.
He said it was in an effort to hold government and people accountable and in “our collective efforts to fight corruption in all facet of governance, that the Wadata Media and Advocacy Centre (WAMAC) investigations has pushed the Niger State government to mobilize the contractor of the state Sport Stadium back to site.”
“WAMAC investigations with the support of MacArthur Foundation on alleged corruption on the construction of a mini stadium by the Niger State government has made the contractor to return to site seven years after the project was abandoned,” he claimed.
He disclosed that WAMAC is a non-governmental organisation that focuses on the fight against corruption in Nigeria and had discovered how the contractor abandoned the project after collecting an initial payment for the contract awarded to him by the state government.
