The Council of Muslim Organisations (CMO), eminent Islamic scholars, including the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Sheikh Abdullahi AbdulHamid and the Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhideen Salman, have acknowledged the support of the Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for the late Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solihu when he was hospitalised.
Imam Solihu died on Monday at an Abuja hospital and was buried in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Tuesday in accordance with Islamic rites.
The CMO and the eminent Imams praised Governor AbdulRazaq for ensuring adequate medical care for the late Sheikh Solihu, who was said to have recuperated fully before his eventual passage.
The council hailed Governor AbdulRazaq’s swift medical attention and concern for the late Chief Imam of Ilorin during the critical period preceding his death.
In a condolence message signed by its coordinator, Justice Idris Abdullahi Haroon(rtd) the council said the governor’s intervention reflected compassion, responsible leadership and respect for religious institutions and their leaders
Similarly, the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Sheikh Abdullahi AbdulHamid acknowledged the role played by Governor AbdulRazaq in ensuring the wellbeing of the late Chief Imam.
