Custodian Group GMD Wins Almond Award For Excellence

The group managing director (GMD) of Custodian and Allied Plc, Wole Oshin has won the 2022 Almond Insurance Industry Business Award For Excellence.

The Award recognises individuals with proven track record of Professional Brilliance, Pioneering, Innovation and Integrity.

Recipients of this award are Men and Women that have contributed to the insurance industry, the companies they work with as well as contributions/service to humanity beyond insurance.

Speaking on the Award, the managing director/CEO of Almond Production Limited, Faith Ugwuode said, the awardees for this category must have contributed to the industry in various capacity for more than a decade.

She stated that, the choice of Wole Oshin was easier as he has demonstrated enormous leadership qualities over the years.

“Wole Oshin has not only built a successful business he has also initiated enduring innovations that has and still impacting the insurance industry. He created the Energy and Allied Insurance Pool of Nigeria during his tenure as chairman of the NIA.

“He also spearheaded the building of a strong database and IT upgrade of the NIA Secretariat. All these milestones are there for all to see,” ,” she pointed out.

Wole Oshin was, in 2015, appointed group managing director (GMD) of Custodian and Allied Plc.

Before becoming the GMD of the group, he was the managing director of Custodian and Allied Insurance Limited (CAIL), the General Insurance business subsidiary.

In his capacity as the chief executive of CAIL, Wole Oshin, who founded the group, was instrumental to the growth and development of the company, having led it through successful mergers and acquisition in the last couple of years. With his appointment as group managing director, Wole is a graduate of Actuarial Science from the University of Lagos and a Chartered Insurer by profession. He is a fellow of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and the Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers. He was the president of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA) and an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.

Custodian group is an indigenous Investment holding company quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) comprising of Custodian and Allied Insurance Limited (CAIL), Custodian Life Assurance Limited (CLA); Crusader Sterling Pensions Limited, Custodian Trustees Limited and Crusader Properties Limited.
