The 156th ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, Emmanuel Agida, has called upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint a qualified and capable youth to lead the Ministry of Youth in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Agida, a former appointee of the APC-led administration of Osun State Government, conveyed this message in an official press release shared with the media. With the aim of ushering in a new era of youth empowerment and development, Nigeria’s Ministry of Youth requires a dynamic, skilled, and seasoned leader.

In line with his stance, Agida went a step further by offering his endorsement for the candidacy of Dayo Israel for the position of Minister of Youth. The statement reads, “It would be remiss of me to advise the President on appointing a competent minister without highlighting a few outstanding leaders within the party. While there are certainly many capable youths in the party, I am particularly inclined to endorse Dayo Israel. My familiarity with Dayo Israel’s endeavors spans five years, but it wasn’t until 2021 that I had the privilege to work closely with him as a member of his CovInspiration virtual program. This program featured distinguished guests such as the Deputy Governor of Lagos, Obafemi Hamzat, and former Nigerian Minister, Sen. Adeleke Mamora, among other notable figures. Prior to this collaboration, I had been an avid viewer of his inspirational talk show, ‘The Dayo Israel Show.'”

The complete statement reads as follows: “Mr. Dayo Israel is exceptionally well-suited for the role of Nigeria’s Minister of Youth. His extensive curriculum vitae serves as a testament to his competence, unwavering dedication, and remarkable accomplishments. With a visionary leadership approach, Dayo Israel is poised to enact transformative change and uplift the country’s youth. His journey, marked by academic excellence and impactful advocacy, has solidified his reputation as a trailblazer who seamlessly blends scholarly prowess with practical leadership.

A distinguished alumnus of esteemed institutions including Harvard Business School, Cambridge Judge Business School, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Dayo consistently manifests his commitment to excellence.

Globally recognized, Dayo earned the distinction of being named one of the ‘100 Most Influential People of African Descent (under 40)’ during the UN Decade for People of African Descent celebrations in New York. His affiliation with esteemed networks such as the British Council Global Change Makers Network and the US State Department International Visitors Leadership Program highlights his role in shaping worldwide narratives and policy dialogues.

Agida also emphasized that Dayo’s impact extends well beyond the international arena. His active involvement in Nigerian politics, particularly as the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, underscores his dedication to representing and empowering young voices within decision-making realms. His introduction of initiatives like the E-Membership program, Progressive Young Leaders Summit, and Progressives Young Leaders Award underscores his forward-looking strategy in youth leadership.

Furthermore, Dayo’s governance experience shines through in his role as an Executive Permanent Board Member of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board. His contributions significantly enhanced primary education quality in Lagos State. Additionally, his role as a legislative aide in the Nigerian National Assembly reflects his comprehensive grasp of the nation’s political landscape.

Continuing to illuminate Dayo Israel’s credentials, Agida emphasized that Dayo’s international acclaim stands as a testament to his tireless commitment to youth empowerment and development. Invitations to Buckingham Palace by Queen Elizabeth II, acknowledgments from the Obama Administration, and selection by the United Nations for prestigious events showcase Dayo’s stature as a global change advocate.

Beyond his political engagements, Dayo is an accomplished author, media personality, and speaker. His influence extends to major media platforms including CNN, BBC, and Nickelodeon. His syndicated program, the ‘Dayo Israel Show,’ resonates with audiences across Europe and Africa, further amplifying his voice and vision.

Dayo Israel embodies the essence of leadership, innovation, and inclusivity that Nigeria’s youth urgently require in this pivotal juncture. His array of accomplishments, diverse experiences, and unyielding dedication uniquely position him as the catalyst for a brighter future. We wholeheartedly endorse Dayo Israel as Nigeria’s Minister of Youth, with the firm belief that his leadership will pave the way for unprecedented growth, empowerment, and progress among the nation’s young populace”
