A fire outbreak has destroyed over fifty (50) shops and property worth million of Naira at Bayan Tasha Market in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

The blaze, which gutted significant parts of the popular market, left traders counting their losses and the community in shock.

Eyewitnesses and residents described the fire as intense, quickly spreading across several sections of the market before it was brought under control.

The heroic efforts of the Damaturu Fire Service and good Samaritans prevented the fire from causing even greater damage.

No life was lost in the incident, although the destruction of property and goods has been described as “unquantifiable.”
