As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Edo State deputy governor, Dennis Idahosa, has enjoined Christians to imbibe the spirit of love and selflessness exhibited by Christ.
Idahosa said emulating Christ, including being tolerant, is the surest path to sustainable peace.
In an Easter message by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor also urged Christians to continue to pray for the country to overcome the present socio-economic challenges.
Idahosa appreciated Christians for their fervent prayers for the state and the country during the 40-day fasting period which culminated in the Easter celebrations.
He stressed the need for the Christian faithful to sustain their prayers and piety beyond this season. He prayed that their supplications manifest in their individual lives and in the life of the country.
The deputy governor assured the people of the state of Governor Monday Okpbebholo’s readiness to bring dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of the state.
