The Senate and the House of Representatives had on March 27, 2025, adjourned plenary to April 29, 2025, for Sallah and Easter holidays.

However, about eight days to the earlier resumption date, both Chambers through the Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Barrister Kamoru Ogunlana, announced the postponement of resumption by one more week, to allow Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members observe the May 1 (Workers’ Day) holiday with their constituents in their various constituencies.

The CNA, in a statement personally signed by him and dated Monday, April 21, 2025, said, “I am directed to inform Distinguished Senators, Honourable Members, and the general public that the two Houses of the National Assembly have extended the date for the resumption of plenary sessions from Tuesday, 29th April 2025, to Tuesday, 6th May 2025.

“This extension allows Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members to participate in the Workers’ Day ceremony and attend to other engagements in their constituencies.
