Kebbi State government has sought the participation of women in the house-to-house campaign for immunisations.
Deputy governor Abubakar Umar Tafida made the appeal yesterday on behalf of the governor, Nasir Idris when he met with the Task Force Committee on Immunisation in his office in Birnin Kebbi.
He noted that the cooperation of women in the exercise will attract total compliance, considering the cultural background of the people in the state.
He commended the task force members and other stakeholders for their commitment to the effective implementation of immunisation across the state.
He also assured the government’s support towards the task force’s success.
The leader of the task force, Dr Jibrin Gwandu, who is also the director of medical services in the Ministry of Health, had earlier told the deputy governor that his ministry had received vaccines, cold boxes, and other essential vaccinations from UNICEF as a donation for effective healthcare delivery in the state.
