Lagos State Council of Progressive Baales (grassroots chiefs) has endorsed  the reelection bid of President Bola Tinubu, saying its action was informed by the need to continue the reforms he had initiated in various sectors to reposition the nation’s economy.

On behalf of the council, the coordinator, Chief Doherty Adeniyi, Baale Olowonifela, also canvassed for the return of former Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, to continue his legacy of impactful governance.

They cautioned against disrupting ongoing economic reforms and restructuring efforts, saying the current reforms must be given adequate time to gain traction and succeed.

The Baales emphasised that their call was rooted in the collective desire of traditional leaders who have remained close to the grassroots and deeply connected to the pulse of the people.

According to him, the strides recorded under Ambode’s administration remain indelible, visible in infrastructural transformation, security enhancement, environmental renewal, and improved public service delivery across communities in Lagos State.

He noted that the philosophy of continuity, long championed by Asiwaju Tinubu, has been instrumental in shaping Lagos into a model of progressive governance in Nigeria. This enduring vision, he stressed, must not only be preserved but strengthened through the return of tested and trusted leadership.

The council extolled Ambode as a silent achiever, a meticulous planner, and a visionary leader whose tenure brought landmark developments that touched both urban and rural communities.

They added that his people-oriented policies, prudent resource management, and commitment to excellence earned him admiration far beyond political lines.

The traditional rulers described Ambode as a bridge-builder and a symbol of responsible leadership—one who governs with humility, listens with empathy, and acts with purpose.

They reaffirmed that his return would not only consolidate past achievements but also usher in a new phase of accelerated growth and inclusive development.

Reiterating their stance, the Council called on all well-meaning Lagosians, stakeholders, and members of the progressive family to align with this vision of continuity and progress. They urged unity of purpose, peaceful engagement, and unwavering support for leadership that has proven capacity and a track record of excellence.
