The Yobe State governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has during the weekend played host to prominent personalities who stormed Damaturu the Yobe State capital to witness the wedding solemnisation of Abubakar Mai Mala and Ai’sha Isa.
The wedding fatiha which was presided over by the chief Imam of the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre Ustaz Hudu Mohammed Yusuf, was attended by the Senate President Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali, deputy governor of Yobe State, Hon Idi Barde Gubana and Senator Mohammed Bomai among other prominent personalities.
The chief Imam solemnised the wedding after payment of N500, 000 dowry by the former governor of the state, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam who stood in for the groom Abubakar while Goni Sanda Mustapha Kusur stood for Ai’sha the bride.
Similarly, the chief imam has equally officiated a marriage between Ai’sha Bulama Bukar the daughter of the member representing Gujba at the State House of Assembly and Mohammed Babagana (Bature Goniri) the General Manager YOROTA.
Governor Mai Mala Buni who stood in for the groom, Bature Goniri announced the sum of N200, 000 as dowry while the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly Alhaji Ahmed Lawan Mirwa was the representative of the bride, Ai’sha.
The Imam prayed to Allah to bless the couples and all those who attended the wedding, advising them to live in peace with one another as contained in the teachings of the holy prophet peace be upon him.
Yusuf was supported for the officiating of the marriages by the Special Adviser to the governor on Religious Affairs Ustaz Babagana Mallam Kyari.
