The All Progressives Congress (APC) Likes Mind has urged President Bola Tinubu to appoint a minister from Plateau State to replace Sen Simon Lalong who was minister from the state until he resigned.

The group leader Hon. Isa Maimadara, in a press statement issued in Jos, pointed out the void has left Plateau State without representation in the Federal Executive Council, despite the state’s contribution to the president’s electoral victory.

He added that a minister from Plateau State, will help actualise the Renewed hope vision of the President for a better Nigeria.

The group however recommended the appointment of Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC governorship candidate in the 2023 election for the ministerial position.

Nentawe, if appointed, will replace Barr. Simon Lalong, who resigned from his position as Minister of Labour and Employment to represent Plateau South in the National Assembly eight months ago.

“We recall with pride the pivotal role Plateau State played in your electoral success, delivering an impressive 307,195 votes, exceeding the 25% requirement and surpassing many other states.

“However, we humbly bring to your attention the pressing need to appoint a minister from Plateau State to fill the vacancy that has existed for over eight months. This void has left our state without representation in the Federal Executive Council, despite our significant contribution to your electoral victory.

“Mr. President, we respectfully remind you that Section 147 of the Constitution mandated that each state shall have at least one minister representing it in the Federal Executive Council. Unfortunately, Plateau non-representation has left us underrepresented,” they said.

The Plateau APC Like-Minds assured President Tinubu of their unwavering commitment to support his vision and pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the success of his administration.
