Nigeria’s super striker Victor Osimhen has assured Galatasaray’s fans that he will soon score his first goal for the club.
The former Napoli of Italy goal-machine’s header towards goal was deflected into the net by a PAOK defender and so it was recorded as an own goal.
This means he has yet to open his goals account for the Turkish champions after three appearances.
However, the Napoli loanee has now assured he will be among the goals before long.
“Unfortunately, it was counted as an own goal again,” he commented after the Europa League clash against PAOK.
It was played when it was first thought he scored the first goal against PAOK.
“The music is something from my days at Lille. My Turkish friend there played it in the gym. I also have a video of me dancing. It will be exciting to have this playing every time I score a goal,” he said.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a loan deal from Napoli during the last hours of the summer window, putting an end to his protracted summer transfer saga.
Despite helping Napoli to their first Scudetto in over three decades two seasons ago with 26 goals, which earned him the Serie A top scorer’s award, Osimhen fell out with some fans of the club during last season, pushing the 25-year-old towards the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium’s exit.
The relationship between both parties had speedily gone sour when the Nigerian requested to leave the club and was subsequently left out of their pre-season, and their first three Serie A matches of the new season, with new manager Antonio Conte reiterating the reigning African Player of the Year was not in their plans.
Osimhen has provided two assists in as many games for Galatasaray and failed to get his first goal for the club when they take on PAOK in a Europa League game on Wednesday.
