The chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, has received a delegation from Transsion Holdings at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja to discuss a potential collaboration aimed at boosting public awareness of NPC’s key programmes.
The delegation, led by Senior Solution Manager for West Africa, Mr. James Emediong, explored ways in which Transsion’s digital expertise could support the Commission’s sensitisation efforts, particularly around the electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (e-CRVS) system and the forthcoming biometric Population and Housing Census.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Kwarra emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships in ensuring effective nationwide communication of NPC activities.
He noted that the collaboration with Transsion Holdings could significantly enhance outreach through digital platforms.
Transsion Holdings, the parent company behind popular smart device brands such as itel, Infinix, and Tecno, also provides mobile internet services powered by its proprietary operating system.
The company’s expertise in mobile technology and wide market reach are seen as key assets in driving the NPC’s public engagement strategies.
“This partnership offers an opportunity to leverage technology to inform and engage the public on critical national data systems,” Mr. Emediong said, expressing Transsion’s readiness to support the Commission’s mandate.
Several NPC directors and technical staff were present at the meeting, which marks the commission’s proactive step toward integrating innovative communication solutions into its national assignments.
