Kwara State Police Command has warned commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators against operating between 9.00pm and 6.00am.

The command reminded the motorcycles and tricycle operators that the ban against their operations between 9.00pm and 6.00am is still in force.

The spokesman of the state police command, Okasanmi Ajayi issued the warning in a statement in Ilorin, the state capital yesterday.

Ajayi clarified that the enforcement of the order banning the motorcyclists and tricyclists from operating at certain periods was not targeted at supporters of any political party in the state.

“No union leader was arrested by the police for supporting any political party; if there was any arrest, the arrestee definitely must have committed an offence.”

“The police command is apolitical and non-partisan and has been discharging its duties conscientiously without fear or favour.

“The commissioner of police in Kwara State, Paul Odama wishes to advise supporters of political parties to eschew heating the polity and stand by the truth at all times. He also assured the good people of Kwara State of the commitment of officers and men of the command to continue to sustain the level playing field it has always provided for all political parties in the state,” Ajayi added.
