Rescue Movement Ignites Youth-driven Political Revolution In Port Harcourt

In a bold step toward reshaping Nigeria’s political future, the Rescue the Vulnerable Initiative, also known as the Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, is rapidly gaining national traction with a powerful vision led by young, passionate Nigerians. The movement officially launched its latest outreach efforts in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with a renewed commitment to empower the vulnerable and redefine the nation’s political landscape through inclusive, youth-centred activism.

The national director of Media and Publicity for the Rescue Movement, Rev. Emmanuel Olorunmagba, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja yesterday. According to the statement, the movement’s heart is its mission to give voice and power to the marginalised, arming them with the skills, resources, and platforms necessary to participate meaningfully in building a “New Nigeria.”

The organisation’s leadership describes it as more than a political initiative—a transformative crusade for hope, dignity, and justice.

According to the statement, the director-general, Martins Chiedozie Ugwu, said the Rescue Movement is determined to “do things differently” by prioritising equity and wealth distribution, particularly for those often excluded from Nigeria’s political and economic systems.

“We believe that collective action can achieve what individual efforts cannot,” Ugwu stated. “Our mission is to unite young people, vulnerable Nigerians, and like-minded individuals to join forces and drive transformative change in our country. We invite all well-meaning Nigerians to join us on this journey towards a brighter future,” the director general said.

The Port Harcourt event marked a key milestone for the movement as it expanded its presence across the South-South and beyond. Comrade Asito Asito, the newly appointed Rivers State coordinator, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and vowed to carry the message of transformation to every corner of the state.

“This movement represents hope for young people in Rivers and across Nigeria. We are committed to reaching the grassroots, enlightening the people, and raising a new generation of leaders who understand the true meaning of service,” he said.

Founded on justice, accountability, and youth empowerment principles, the Rescue Movement has already made waves in Nigeria’s political space. The organisation backed several young candidates in recent elections, including presidential aspirant Faduri Joseph, known as Fadojoe. The movement believes Fadojoe embodies the visionary leadership needed to take Nigeria into a new era.

The movement aims to break the cycle of political exclusion and poverty through its various initiatives by investing in leadership development, civic education, and grassroots mobilisation. It is primarily focused on ensuring that vulnerable Nigerians are represented in political discourse and empowered to become leaders and decision-makers.

The movement’s progressive stance and rapidly growing grassroots base reflect a national hunger for change, particularly among young Nigerians disillusioned with traditional politics. With over 60% of Nigeria’s population under 30, the Rescue Movement sees this demographic as future leaders and the present force capable of driving change.

As the Rescue Movement grows, it calls on all Nigerians, especially the youth, to rise above political apathy and embrace a new path driven by transparency, service, and people-centred governance.

With a clear vision, strong leadership, and a dedicated grassroots network, Rescue the Vulnerable Initiative is poised to become one of the most influential socio-political forces in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
