Unique Secondary School Makurdi (USSM), Benue State, has announced a scholarship scheme for parents with more than one child enrolled in the school.
It also opened an official examination centre in Oju Local Government Area, to ease the burden of long-distance travel for students in that region.
This is just as the school honoured a distinguished alumnus, Dr. Mark Ogbodo, founder of Lydia Memorial Hospital and a prolific author, by naming its newly commissioned recreational facility ‘Dr. Mark Ogbodo Park’.
The Chairman and founder of Unique Schools, Engr. Felix Atume, performed the commissioning at the school promises recently.
Speaking after receiving the award, Ogbodo said; “Who am I to deserve this great honour?. What are my positive footprints?” He praised the school’s management, led by Principal Mr. Samuel Ortsega, and the Parent-Teacher Association for recognising his contributions.
The recent initiatives, including the Oju exam centre, scholarship rollout, and honouring of Dr. Ogbodo, underscore USSM’s unwavering commitment to innovation, community development, and the celebration of excellence.
The commissioning of Dr. Mark Ogbodo Park was followed by a dinner in honour of the 2025 graduating class.
