Being a digital satellite installer can be a profitable enterprise, according to an installer, Akinwale Yekini, as it requires a few months of training and some capital to get started.

According to him, technology has made the work easier than ever before. Prior to now, you could not work without electricity. But today, through the use of a digital signal finder called Meter, you can track a signal even when there is none.

For you to make headway in this profession, you will have to invest in tools and training. You will need equipment, such as; digital satellite signal finder, hammer, screwdriver, plier and spanner.

Training

Although attending college is not exactly a must before working as an installer, the majority of people who work as satellite installers learn their trade on the job and accumulate their knowledge along the way.

Market

“For this business, there is a market. This digital satellite is being installed in lots of residences, businesses, lodging facilities, places of worship, educational institutions, pubs, and even clubhouses because users can be certain that they will be able to access their preferred programming, such as sports, movies, and reality shows, through the device,” Yekini said.

Profitability

On profitability, Yekini stated that, the price to install a satellite system for a single room is roughly N5,000; however, the price may be more if it is dual view depending  on other aspects like location and distance.

Following the initial installation, there is a chance that customers will continue to call you for system maintenance. This could be due to poor signal reception caused by inclement weather or a very frequent associated with the receiver, he stressed.

Registration

This job does not require you to join association before you can perform the work, in contrast to several others. Knowing the work, having the necessary tools, and understanding what your clients want are all you need to be successful.

Unlike some professions that will require you join as association before you can do the work, this one does not. All you need is know the work, have your tools and know what your clients want.
