The Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele has congratulated the Super Falcons for clinching their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in a dramatic final held Saturday night in Rabat, Morocco.
Enabulele, in a statement by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, described the victory as a resounding testament to the team’s resilience, patriotism, and unyielding spirit.
He praised the Super Falcons for overturning a two-goal deficit to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 in a pulsating finale.
“Coming from two goals down to beat Morocco and claim a record-extending 10th WAFCON title exemplifies the passion and resilience of a true sports team,” Enabulele stated.
He lauded the Falcons’ consistency and brilliance throughout the tournament — from topping their group, to edging out Zambia’s Copper Queens in the quarter-finals, and overcoming defending champions South Africa in the semi-finals.
“The Falcons proved they are not just contenders, but the undisputed queens of African football,” he added.
He also commended the team’s defensive discipline, noting that they reached the semi-finals without conceding a single goal — a feat that underscores their dominance on the continent.
Enabulele concluded by applauding Head Coach Justin Madugu, the technical crew, and the entire squad for their dedication and focus in achieving “Mission X” and bringing pride and glory once again to Nigeria.
