Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Buni Lays Wreath In Honour Of Fallen Heroes, Commends Troops

Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni, paid tribute to the fallen heroes during the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration in the state.

The ceremony, held at the event centre, Government House, Damaturu, which marked the culmination of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Emblem Appeal Fund, witnessed the presence of various government dignitaries, security agency heads, traditional rulers, members of the Nigeria Legion, and family members of the fallen heroes.

Buni, in his remarks, expressed heartfelt tributes to the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight against insurgency in the northeast.

He highlighted the peaceful conduct of the commemoration as a sign of the returning peace to Yobe State.

Governor Buni called on the troops to exhibit unwavering patriotism and nationalism to uphold the current state of peace in the entire region.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the event featured symbolic activities such as the release of white pigeons, symbolizing peace across the state and the nation.

Both Muslim and Christian military clerics offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes and for the continued peace of Yobe State and the entire nation.
