Former Cross River State governor, Liyel Imoke, former Niger Delta Affairs minister, Usani Usani, Senator Gershom Bassey, among others have pledged to oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and at the national level in 2027.
The party leaders met in the state capital yesterday. Other politicians at the meeting are former state party chairman for the PDP (Cross River State) Ntufam Ekpo Okon, Akin Ricketts, former House representative member for Abi/ Yakurr Federal constituency at the National Assembly, Bassey Ewa, Ntete Bassey-Duke, Chief Ugba Murphy, among others.

Imoke, who said the process had taken more than one year, said “You can imagine what it has taken us to bring in Peter Obi, Atiku, El-rufai.
We are quite aware of the infiltration that has taken place amongst the various political parties.
“You can imagine the high level of dictatorship. For us to bring these key personalities into the coalition isn’t easy.
“You can see why the current administration has become so afraid. Our mission is to build a new leadership in Cross River State.
“What we are looking at here in Cross River State is a movement. I have specially requested a few young people to be here.”Imoke maintained.
In his remarks, Bassey asked the coalition to ensure that Labour Party members are brought into the coalition.
Also speaking, national chairman All Democratic Alliance (ADA), Akin Ricketts, said he and his allies joined the coalition from the APC because of the poor state of the country.
In his remarks, Senator Gershom Bassey, who represented the Cross South Senatorial district, said “we cannot have a system in Nigeria where people would predict election results that are yet to be contested.
“We have to contest those ideas and put it across to the people. We are doing these for the sake of democracy.”
Also speaking, former senatorial aspirant for Cross River North Senatorial district, Chief Ugba Murphy, stated that the only way forward is to secure the future of the nation for generations to come.
