Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, has threatened to exit the All Progressives Congress (APC) if his appeal over alleged injustice done to him during the just concluded primary in Nasarawa State is not addressed.

Addressing newsmen in Lafia yesterday, the former police chief alleged that the outcome of the primary was altered in favour of the government’s preferred candidate, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, at the last minute, adding that he won with a landslide.

He noted that the declaration of Wadada as winner of the poll did not receive the blessings of 90 percent of the APC members and stakeholders in the state because of the alleged irregularities that trailed the exercise.

He urged the appeal committee and the party’s national leadership to upturn the outcome in his favour, while expressing confidence that he would get justice.

He, however, vowed that if the party leadership failed to do justice in the matter, he was open to join another political party to realise his ambition.

“Should justice prevail, we shall continue our journey within the APC. However, If justice is denied we shall communicate to you the next line of action and the political platform under which we shall contest the 2027 governorship race,’ he stated.

According to him, his aspiration to rescue and reposition Nasarawa state remains alive, and expressed confidence that with public support he would contest and win in 2027 either under APC or any other party.

He urged his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, law-abiding and committed to the struggle for fairness and a better Nasarawa State.
