National chairman of the All Progressives (APC) Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has assured President Bola Tinubu, leaders of the party and members that he would not fail them.
Yilwatda gave this assurance in his acceptance speech after his re-election and swearing at the APC national convention held in Abuja late Friday night.
The chairman and other members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and non-NWC national officers were elected through consensus.
Some of the newly elected officers include, Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Abubakar Dalori (Borno), Deputy National Chairman (South)Hon. Ben NwoyeNational Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru (Osun), Deputy National Secretary, Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana (Nasarawa), National Vice Chairman (North Central), Mu’azu Bawa Rijau (Niger), Deputy Vice Chairman (North East): Dr. Mustapha Salihu (Adamawa), National Vice Chairman (North West): Hon. Mohammed Datti (Kaduna).
Others are: National Vice Chairman (South South), Hon Victor Giadom (Rivers), National Vice Chairman (South West), D. I. Kekemeke (Ondo) and National Welfare Secretary,Hon. Ignatus Nwapa (Abia), National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka (Delta); National Youth Leader, Abdullahi Dayo Israel (Lagos), Special (Persons With Disability) Leader, Tolu Bankole (Ogun), National Organising Secretary, Ibrahim Argungu.
The national chairman in his speech said: “I give you a clear and bold assurances that we will not falter, I will not rather fail you rather together, we will step forward to be counted when it matters most.
“I urge all our members and supporters to remain steadfast and united, because we stand together stronger as a political party with unity, progress will be steady and enduring, and our victories is assured.”
Expressing gratitude to Tinubu and other party leaders, he said, “Today, every officer elected at this this convention, we say we are grateful. Thank you so very much. Let me assure this August gathering that I fully and completely accept this mandate with a full understanding of the way of history, the expectation of our people and the urgency of this moment.
“I know that from this day the burden of leadership to provide them for the millions of our members from every ward, every state, every corner of this nation will now rest on us and our shoulder, I will take it with gratefulness.”
