Kung Fu, stunt and action film star, producer and director, Jackie Chan has urged friends and fans who were concerned about his health post the posting of images of the actor looking grey old ‘not to worry’ “It’s just a character for my latest movie.”
The movie star who celebrated his 70th birthday on April 7, was spotted in several images online with white hair, white beard and looking extremely old, responded in his Instagram account that he had always been willing to “try new things for a movie, no matter if it’s a challenging stunt or breakthrough appearance for a character”.
Chan noted that despite his shock by reminders from friends that he is 70 this year, his friend’s Sammo Hung’s advice always come to mind – “being able to grow old is a fortunate thing.”
Said Chan: “Especially for us stunt people, we don’t know how lucky we are to be able to grow old. I have been in the entertainment business for 62 years and I cherish every moment because I’m lucky I’m still filming today.
“Recently my staff have been going through my photo archives and found so many memorable photos. I’ve selected a few to post with this message. Looking at these photos brings back so many fond memories. All I can say is ‘I love making movies and I love you all.”
