Veteran actress Joke Silva has shared details of how she met her husband, Olu Jacobs, revealing that their love story began on a movie set, though it was not love at first sight for her.
Speaking on TVC’s Your View, Silva said she was unaware of Jacobs’ celebrity status at the time they first met.
“Yes, we met on stage, and when we met on a movie set, everybody knew the great Olu Jacobs was coming, except me. When he came, we got on very well,” she said.
According to her, Jacobs was immediately smitten, but she took longer to develop romantic feelings.
“For him, it was love at first sight, but for me, it wasn’t,” she added.
Silva disclosed that she only learned of Jacobs’ age after they began dating, noting that his youthful appearance initially masked the age difference between them.
The couple exchanged vows in 1985, with Silva aged 24 and Jacobs 44. Their marriage, which has produced two children, has endured for decades.
“This older man allows you to get away with a lot of things,” she said.
The couple remain one of Nollywood’s most admired partnerships, often cited as an example of lasting love in the entertainment.
