Some yet-to-be identified gunmen have gunned down two policemen and left another fatally wounded at Okpala junction, in the Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo State on Saturday.

Sources confirmed two policemen lying lifeless in the pool of their blood while another was in a police vehicle for onward transportation to a hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Henry Okoye, has confirmed the attack on Policemen attached to the Counter-Terrorism Unit, saying the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, has assured that the gunmen will be arrested.

“Two of our men attached to the counter terrorism paid the supreme prize. One is currently in hospital.

“Further, we have already recovered vehicle used for the attack. It was riddled with bullets meaning the assailants were badly injured.
