Two times Kaduna State governorship candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Isa Ashiru Kudan, has resigned from PDP over persistent internal leadership crisis
He joined the coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC) to pursue his governorship ambition in 2027 as he removed PDP logo on his facebook profile and replaced it with ADC.
Ashiru in a letter of resignation addressed to Kudan ward PDP chairman said the decision was personal and taken in good faith.
According to Ashiru who was PDP state governorship candidate in 2019 and 2023 general elections stated, “I write with a deep sense of humility to formally notify the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of my decision to resign my membership of the party effective from today the 27th of March, 2026
“After a careful reflection over the persistent internal leadership crisis, conflicts, rancor and divisions within the party, it has become increasingly difficult for me to continue to participate actively as a member of the party. This decision is personal and taken in good faith.
However, on Monday, Ashiru formally announced his resignation from PDP, “Today, I have formally resigned my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party.
“This decision follows careful reflection on the state of affairs within the party. It was not taken lightly, but in good faith and with a clear sense of responsibility.
“I remain committed to the service of our people and the pursuit of unity, progress, and good governance,” Ashiru said.
