Following the board members’ refusal to justify the confidence reposed in them, the Kebbi State government has constituted a panel to investigate the Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero ( AFUSTA) system of administration and other challenges affecting the institution.

While inaugurating the panel members in Birnin Kebbi, Idris lamented that he wanted to sack all the university’s board members for their inability to justify the confidence reposed in them by the government.

“But I was advised administratively to constitute members of an enquiry to investigate the challenges and crisis currently facing the institution”, Governor Idris said.

The members were mandated by the government to thoroughly examine the University’s operations and ensure that all challenges are appropriately solved.

Members of the panel include the Chancellor of the University and Emir of Yauri, Dr Zayyanu Abdullahi, as leader of the panel; the former Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Mohammed Abubakar Ka’oje, as chairman; and other members.

The chairman of the panel, Prof Mohammed Ka’oje, assured the government about their readiness to work diligently to ensure absolute peace in the University.

“We are set to work together and ensure that all identified problems are resolved in the interest of the University’s community and the government of Kebbi State.” Prof Ka’oje said.
