All Progressives Congress Governorship Campaign Council in Kogi State has called on security agencies to be fair and professional in their duties ahead of the November 11 election.

In a press statement yesterday, the council expressed concerns over the recent raids on the residences of its chieftains in Kogi East. It said it hoped the leaders were not specifically targeted.

“We welcome every effort at ensuring a peaceful poll on November 11, 2023. The election is for the electorate to determine who leads the state from January 27, 2024, and therefore shouldn’t be a reason for insecurity in the state,” the statement read.

However, the council spokesperson Kingsley Fanwo said the raids have raised worries that they were being singled out before the crucial vote.

“We hereby call on security agencies to act professionally, fairly, and with the patriotic intent to maintain law and order before, during and after the election,” the council urged.
