Represented by the state coordinator of the NDE, Mr Lawan Ali Yaya, the DG said at the end of the training NDE will disburse transport allowance of N15,000 to each, as well as starter packs to trainees to commence their own businesses.

He said the NDE in order to ensure its mandate, the VSD department over the years through the instrument of Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS) has injected a large number of artisan (technicians) in various skills into the economy of rural areas across the 36 states and FCT.
Fikpo said the scheme aims at tackling unemployment among the youth and the promotion of entrepreneurship in line with the Bola Tinubu renewed hope agenda.

He said the NDE was committed to equipping Nigerians with life skills for employability and entrepreneurship so that they can take advantage of the numerous policies of the federal government that are designed to boost the economy and improve the standard of living of Nigerians.

Fikpo appealed to the beneficiaries to avail themselves of the opportunities and be useful to their families, communities and the nation at large.
One of the beneficiaries, Garba Audu, commended the NDE for giving them the opportunity to be trained.
