The management of the Nigerian Legion has denied reports alleging the diversion of N65m Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration funds and the subsequent resignation of directors.
A statement by the director, corporate affairs, Adenike Soaga-Adetoro, denied the claims and threatened legal action against the medium.
She explained that some officers left the legion as part of a broader restructuring and to align the organisation team with a new strategic direction, saying this has nothing to do with any crisis as it is the normal practice within the military and para-military organisations when new management takes over.
According to her, the Nigerian Legion is undergoing a major transformation under the new management with focus on modernising veteran welfare, restructuring the corps of commissionaires and enhancing security roles under the leadership of the national chairman, Ms Grace Morenike Henry.
