The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has described the forensics laboratory of the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  as one of the best in Africa.

EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren said this disclosure  was made in Abuja on Tuesday,  September 13,  2022 by the head,  forensic and psychological services unit of NSCDC,  Superintendent of Corps, SC Tersoo Shappera while on a courtesy visit to the  corporate headquarters of the EFCC.

According to him,  the EFCC has shown by its performance and pedigree to be a professional anti-corruption agency that other agencies can understudy.

He said, “It is a fact that the EFCC forensics has come to stay, and I am not just talking about this country, I know what you are doing and I can best describe the EFCC forensics services as one of the best in Africa.   Today,  we are actually presenting ourselves to you as partners in this job and in areas that you know better”.

On the issue of training and inter-agency collaboration,   Shappera said that,  “there is no point suffering to get across the globe what we can just get from the EFCC… there  is a need to further strengthen the existing inter- agency collaboration and learn from your wealth of experience in the areas of forensics and psychological services, case management and capacity building by organizing training for  our personnel.”
