Police Nab 41 Over Killing Of DPO In Kano

No fewer than 41 persons have been arrested by the Kano State Police Command over the brutal killing of CSP Baba Ali, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Rano.
Spokesperson of the Command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in a statement on Thursday, expressed shock and sadness over the incident, noting that the late DPO died while in active service.
Kiyawa who said the arrests followed a swift and thorough investigation said the identified principal was among the arrested suspects.

The PPRO said the perpetrators will be made to face the wrath of the law upon the completion of investigation.

“The Police are working tirelessly to ensure that no stone is left unturned in apprehending all those involved in this dastardly act.

“The Command views this senseless killing that has been met with widespread condemnation, as a grave attack on the very fabric of our society and a direct assault on the sacrifices of our brave police officers who risk their lives daily to protect our communities.

“However, the Command is resolute in its determination to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he stated.

Kiyawa further said the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori assured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all lives and property in the State.

While appreciating the public for their understanding, condolences and cooperation, the CP urged citizens to remain calm and continue to provide the necessary support to the Police in ongoing investigation.
