A Dharikatul Tijjaniyya leader,Sheikh Abubakar Sadiq, on Sunday, called on Muslims and non-Muslims in Nigeria to reflect on the significance of Maulud Nobiyy and offer prayers for peace, unity, and economic stability of the country.
Sheikh made the call while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the Maulud celebration at his residence over the weekend.
“I want to use this avenue to pray for our dear country Nigeria for a peaceful living and I urge us as well to come together and unite irrespective of our religion because we are all human and we are all creatures of Almighty Allah.
“We pray to Almighty Allah to restore peace and stability in Nigeria for a peaceful coexistence,” he said.
While explaining the importance of the celebration of the birth of the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), he said Maulud is very important for us to celebrate because he is recognized by Almighty Allah himself. Almighty Allah love and honor the Holy prophet and as good Muslims, we have to love, respect, and honor our beloved prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) the love and honor for the Holy prophet shouldn’t be limited to Muslims alone, but all mankind irrespective of your religion.
“Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) is a very wonderful and unique prophet because Almighty Allah stated clearly in the holy Qur’an that whoever loves and believes in me should also follow the footsteps of my beloved prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and with that, I will forgive him all his sins and be merciful with him.
“We are all here at this Maulud today to seek the forgiveness and mercy of Almighty Allah because we love and believe in Him and we also believe that prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) is his messenger and we believe in everything that comes from him,” he said
Yaba Idris Alfa who was appointed as the grand patron of the organization promised
pray for the country and also use his position to unite religions and propagate humanity.
According to him, “I have been doing this and I promise to be doing it for the sake of Allah and with my belief and faith, am satisfied being here on this special occasion today.
“Maulud means a lot to me with my little understanding of it saying that the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and based on what my spiritual mentor has explained.”
