LEADERSHIP gathered that the victims were murdered in the early hours of Monday around the Office Bus Stop on New Ibadan-Oyo Road, Akinyele local government area.

The residents said they woke up to see the dead bodies  in their domain, adding that one of them was beheaded, while vital organs were removed from the remaining two.

It was learnt that the dead bodies weren evacuated by the operatives of Oyo State police command.

When contacted, the police public relations officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the evacuation, saying it was done in the public interest.

Osifeso said, “Yes, the corpses have been evacuated this morning (Tuesday). It was done in the public interest, and safety and to prevent the spread of an epidemic. An investigation has already commenced and updates will be provided accordingly.”

It was gathered that an unpleasant odour had taken over the area before the arrival of the police officers to evacuate the bodies.

A commercial driver, Abdulfatai AbdulGaniyu, said, “I saw the…bodies of these people in the morning when I was carrying passengers from Ojoo to Toose. The case looks like  ritual killing because one of them was beheaded.”

Another source, who did not want his name in print, said, “They could be passengers who are looking for cheap fares and cheap vehicles. They are the ones who normally stay at that bus stop to board their vehicles to either Oyo, Ogbomoso, Ilorin and even Jebba.

“They cannot afford the fares at the Terminal and that’s why they stay there. But this particular case is quite different because some of their vital organs were removed,” he said.
