Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has said he decided to appoint 16 new permanent secretaries to have a proper course for the state.
He said the new permanent secretaries will be leading their various ministers until when commissioners would be appointed to head the ministries.

Fubara spoke yesterday while swearing-in the new permanent secretaries at Government House, Port Harcourt.
The governor assured Rivers people of the willingness of the government to lead and govern in the light of God.
He said: “It is not that you are lucky to be among the new permanent secretaries at this critical time of our history, but living up to it; knowing that it is not just an appointment that after two or three months, your faces will start changing, but it is a call to duty.

“We have a lot to do for our people and your responsibility as permanent secretary is too much. We have a lot of ministries that are not manned by adequate authorities for a while now.
